PS Dave, the other obvious question I'd have is about the evolution of the Space Force base too, must be some mock-ups still around ... somewhere ...Dave Tree wrote:Oh yes, there has got to be some evolution to get to a flying red skull with machine guns for eyes. Yup, do you reckon it was a one off?
I was hoping for a bit of developmental angst.

I know nothing... It did appear in the first comic strip * though, along with prototype versions of the Cosmic Cruiser and Swordfish.

That to me looks one of the Farmers & Associates displays, rather than an actual product. Farmers made Trade Show and shop displays, and as that unit looks like it is showcasing all the teams I would think it is part of the display, rather than a concept itself. Would love to see if there is one still kicking around out there.Quickfire wrote:

where would you go to find out if one still existed?Dave Tree wrote:That to me looks one of the Farmers & Associates displays, rather than an actual product. Re: Dave's 1,000th post treat
well, I started with the guy who made them, and he has nothing left from those days, AF, Star Wars or otherwise. That piece would have been on display for the January 83 toyfair and unless duplicates were made for key account retailers, it is quite possible it was the only one made and current whereabouts unknown or possibly destroyed. The only one I know of that exists today is this one:gung-hoeddie wrote: where would you go to find out if one still existed?
