I would say make the boat crew your distinctive characters along with Grimm and The Wolf but do more Reapers that way they are more of a new breakaway group rather than an established entity.
Spock, where the hell's the power you promised?

why cant you imagine seeing them for sale?Sundance wrote:these aren't toys, they're 3.75in works of art. that's why i like them and dislike them at the same time. they're so well done, you can't help liking them and being in awe of them. but on the other hand, i could never imagine seeing them on sale in a toy shop, which is what i usually like to see in a custom...
i see my customs as being how i think toys should look, hasbro are sloppy as far as final finish goes.
these are what i would want to buy, im selfish as far as customs go, i just make what i want so i guess they are love em or hate em!
thats what i was thinking, cheers mate.Ironblood wrote:I would say make the boat crew your distinctive characters along with Grimm and The Wolf but do more Reapers that way they are more of a new breakaway group rather than an established entity.

because they look too f*cking brilliant!
the quality of the work seems more suggestive of White Dwarf Golden Demon entries or Diamond Select 50-odd quid stuff than a 4.99 figure you'd've bought in Woolies in 1984!

thanks, just how i feel they should look! i know from my work in the industry @ some point somebody would have put this much effort in, then when they went to production...........Sundance wrote:because they look too f*cking brilliant!

i guess i dont just see my customs as JUST toys, although having said that i never lose sight that thats what they are!
i have simplified what i do, im resisting the urge to put more shading into the paintwork so they fit in with regular figures.

They are sh*t Ross.
Best thing you can do is package them all up and send them to me immediately. Don't worry, I wont tell anyone that you did them as they are so bad. I'll tell everyone that I painted them and that I am really talented.
Great work you talented swine!

I guess you have to make a distinction betweem then being very high quality toy's or one off a kind out n out models.
No matter how carefull you play with 'em, they have to take a lot more ware 'n' tear than a model thats just going to sit on the shelf.
I find modern toy sculpting & painting astounding, but a lot of the new Star Wars & Joe figures just seem really too fragile..like Hasbro know adults are now buying toys for show & are not making toys for kids to play with any more.

More news, as its made, from new Action Force!

heading more & more that way, would be interesting to know the percentage of toys bought by/for kids vs. toys bought by adults!Thundershot wrote:I guess you have to make a distinction betweem then being very high quality toy's or one off a kind out n out models.

Nice job there, Ross. Is there anything you can't do?
