As a minor quibble/question will you curve the top corners of your display background?

Probably not as it's just a lot simpler not to...

I was thinking of doing a similar thing around the 9 forces on my shelves. Some great ideas there Paul. Of course the 9 forces are;

Action Force Wave 1
Action Forces Wave 2 (4 of)
AF Wave 3
AF/Joe Wave 4 (MAF era)
Red Shadows
Cobra.
