Z Force Recce Jeep & Driver

Post by Jimbo »

Folks,

Got back into collecting Action Force about six months ago. My brother and I owned the lot (less a couple of things) as a kids so thought I'd do my bit expanding the range. I made this one up not long after I got my collection out of my mum's loft, but it has taken me this long to work out how to get the photos on! (thanks Steve and Meertoh).

Anyway this is how it started out.................

The Jeep,

Based on the GI Joe AWE Striker, the gun on top (which would probably been powerful enough to throw the jeep about half a mile backwards!) is now a multi sensor surveillance camera. It is controlled by the mini sighting system which sits on the dashboard. At present I'm trying to make a screen for it using small photos of shadowtracks and a couple of bits of plastic. Unfortunately my craft skills are almost as bad as my painting ability! When it sits on my shelf or my son takes it outside it has some rolled up scrim and stuff to finish it off and enable it to be well hidden, but it ruined the photos with all that on.

The driver,

Hit & Run (who I've always thought was destined for Z Force and could pass as a multi-jointed Wheels) with the Infantryman's backpack. I've put another larger pack in the vehicle for those long periods observing away from the vehicle and he has a small gun from Alpine (if I remember correctly) for when the target gets too close. I was going to use the Hit & Run figure as a sniper at one point, but I just felt I couldn't let Tracker down!

I have a couple more vehicles done, and one I am working on at the moment.

Back soon,

Jim

Hi Jimbo,

Very smooth transition from Joe to Z FORCE buggy mate :D

As for Hit n Run,Such a smple transition for him as you say he looked the part anyway, just needed the "Z" on his arms.

Great work mate :D

...and that's where my painting skills end. Perhaps I'll give it a go with a red permanent marker, otherwise he'll end up with a red splodge on each arm!

Awww after all that work & you say that.......LOL

Another option jimbo would be to print out a RED Z & stick that on with glue? maybe Red Z on Green or Black background to blend with figure??

Again very nice work mate :D

Very cool!

Hit & Run I used to armybuild. A whole platoon of these guys in an APC is really an excellent sight...
