Shadow Truck.

Post by wheeljack0 »

Just finished this off last night.
I made it from an 'Indiana Jones' vehicle.
I ended up using red Plasticoat spray paint in the end which isnt the best thing to use even with a proper mask and it takes ages to dry.
Hope you guys all like?
Im all but out of room now so maybe i will put some new things i make to sell. Be nice for them to go to a good home.

That would be very cool to find one with a real canvas.

Brilliant mate really like this. This fits in brilliantly.
I know what you mean about the Plastikote, its good but easy to mess up and when I tried to seal a custom with the Plastikote clear stuff it did mess it up! I guess that Plastikote is acrylic as enamel messes it up. I think I am going to invest in a Testors airbrush compressor for Airbrushing enamel paint.

That looks brilliant, well done. Would love a few of these myself.
When confronted by a difficult problem you can solve it more easily by reducing it to the question. How would the Lone Ranger handle this?

Excellent work - it really does fit in well and the Laser Exterminator looks very much at home. I found Plastickote alright when I did my Blacktrak custom - I thought it was enamel, but perhaps they make acrylic paint as well.

Humby if you are just going to use the airbrush for applying varnish go for a Badger or Revell basic model powered by a gas bottle the whole set up would be round about £20 opposed to the Testors AZTEK and compressor which cost me almost £200.

Can I ask if the paint you used had dried properly? As if acrylic isn't properly dry it will react with the enamel paint and screw it up. I use enamel paints and acrylic varnishes and have no trouble at all.

Very cool! I was thinking about getting some red plastikote myself. I've never used it on toys before but it'e great for guitars :-) .

I've got about 6 Indy trucks (only one canvas one). I might give this a go lol.
