SAS Radio Operator
Something else from me, my take on an SAS Radio Operator. Not sure about the grey to his hat, but it does set him out from other SAS figures with the same Commando headgear. For some reason the black applied to the pair of Z-Force legs used doesn't look great close-up (a Humbrol gloss), so any suggestions for future paint jobs welcomed.

Re: SAS Radio Operator
Grouse idea there. How about a Moondancer/Hot Jets type head tho? That'd work nicely with the radio motif and you wouldn't have to paint it either. Or are you trying to keep with the Commando style?

I guess I hadn't thought of using a Moondancer type head, but that's not a bad idea. Perhaps I'll do a pal fr this one.

You're right Chopper - in fact thinking about it, I used one on my custom Captain Buckingham from my earlier post of the SAS Assault Squad.
Re: SAS Radio Operator
Like it mate good idea. I think I may have to add one of these to my line up.
For black I use Humbrol Satin 85 but put on Humbrol undercoat no1 first. The grey I use for SAS is Humbrol 92. I try not to use any gloss as I think the figures had a satin finish to them originally. Although the Humbrol red for
is no 19 which is gloss as Humbrols satin red comes out too light. I don't know if you saw my post but I am still trying to mix the perfect
green using Humbrol enamels.

Thanks for the paint tips Humby - very helpful. I had spotted your post about Z-Force. I've been holding off painting up Z-Force customs in the hope of tips on the green(s) required.
