It is a shame there is less text this time, but what there is does help a lot in that it confirms that all the wave 1 items were still available in wave 2, including the Boat patrol. It also answers the question about that product, it is still listed as being blister carded, while all the other ones are now in 'new packaging'.
The sales figure for BAF is amazing, over half a million readers is a figure most comics would kill for now (I'm given to believe that 2000AD is now around 50,000 at most)!

apparently unlike the 1983 catalogue, the 84 was produced by the French Division of General Mills not Palitoy, might be due to the Palitoy design dept being closed down in 84.
A lot of material was pulled from the catalogue at the last minute, mainly the further devlopment of the sucessful AM SAS and the complete new range of Action Man.
I've seen a visual of the proposed AM and its much more futurisitc, more AF than Action Force. the vehicles could be modded too.
Most of these were worked up over Xmas of 83 by Derek Henden Associates for the Jan 84 toyfair and the catalogue, although completed there were never shown. The only remains of some of the planned new releases are in a supplement that came with the 84 price list.

With names like 'Chameleon Gunship' it does seem that AM was shifting away from the traditional WWII style.
I'm guessing Airbourne Assault would of been part of the Special Team which would have meant that figure almost definatly would of found its way to Action Force like all the others did.
Jonsey can your dealer ger any earlier Palitoy trade catalogues, if they would'nt interest you, maybe I could purchase them instead.

that is a new one on me, how does that box size 44cm x 30cm x 8 cm compare to the Original Playset box?Oddly enough the accessory pack is only on the space force page, but as I think they came as an assortment it probably makes sense for them only to appear once. The playset does also say 'new pack' so on reflection I'm more convinced that this was going to be a reissue of the original one.
Maybe they cancelled it so they didn't take sales away from the new (more expensive) Z Force Base?
