Arctic Force?

Post by steve »

Just a thought, would Arctic Warfare specialists be best as part of Z Force or SAS Force?

I know that in the British Armed Forces the Mountain & Arctic Warfare Cadre are part of the Royal Marines, so that would lead me to think that any Arctic Warfare Specialists should be part of SAS Force, rather than Z Force.

Long term this may lead to a use for my classic Action Force Snow guys.

In Action Man the Artic figure was part of of the Marines as well and if they were marines could Q force have dibs on them?

Heres another crossover, in Action Man, Artic Assault, Navel Assault and Ground Assault would of been part of Special Team which were touted as some sort of specialised unit, independent from the other forces

Being part of Q Force would make some sense, the helmets are the same as the Surfer.

Oddly enough, the Dutch Catalogue we've got scans of refers to the original Action Force as the 'special brigade'

GR7 in Arctic Camo

Post by steve »

Nice  , like how the old GR3s used to look in their Arctic Schemes.

Congrats on the move, So you're playing with the big boy's toys now, must be a quantum leap in terms from the old Hercules C1 + C3 in terms of capability and technology.

Out of interest did you ever see the W2 close up, that was a bizarre looking plane.

:chopper: "I want a plane, or a helicopter, or even a microlight, after waiting 20 years I'm not proud" :chopper:

There was some programme on Discovery channel recently where they built a Globemaster over so many episodes, Not sure of the scale but certainly big enough to get a few Z force tanks in the hold

I know the show you mean, http://www.homeandleisure.co.uk/models/ ... index.html - 1/9th scale and 20 foot long, that's a big model, means that one to AF Scale would only be 10 foot long (1/18 scale)

Did you see the last series? They built a Radio Control model HMS Fearless, complete with RC Landing Craft that came out the stern doors and with RC tank in the Landing Craft! They also had an RC Sea King helicopter that took off from the deck (sadly that crashed)[/url]

I saw some of the last series, the last one was great, well except as you say for the crashing helicopter, it was quite funny as none of the people who built it wanted to fly it as it was too windy and the presenter kind of forced them into it, you could see the pain on their faces when it went down. I think it was the last one I saw of this series as they went inside a real C-17 at the end and chatted to a pilot and comparing its differencies with the Hercules.

Each to their own but rather than tough looking men, I would rather see the payload floor to ceiling full of Chicken Tikka Massala, although guessing it'd probably not be that much help in a battle.

I'm sorry its friday!
