sneak peak: WILDER VAUGH/BLACK MAJOR + RED SHADOWS
sneak peak: WILDER VAUGH/BLACK MAJOR + RED SHADOWS
ok, heres a little teaser of my new shadows & wilder vaughn/black major.
gone for the new style heads from "rise of the red shadows" with full head masks with just shadows for the eyes but then used helmets too (im going for a mix of old/new)
the base is the new red resolute cobra troopers, havent really changed them, was going to paint the silver armour black, but really like it silver so havent decided what im going to do! maybe a darker silver/grey.....
i know im going to get criticism because they look too close to the base figure, but i dont care!
still too come is red lazer & red vulture (almost finished) they are in the same uniform, but with different masks.
let me know what you think, or any advice/opinions.

i will be adding shadow logos to the helmets, just waiting on decals, also will paint logos on sleeves.
think i will paint all the silver kind of metalic gun metal. personally, i dont like the long coats the new shadows wear, was originally thinking about having them but prefer this look. like i said, cross between the old & new!

Lookng good, Ross. I'd suggest black / dark tarnished armour, possibly even putting the logos on the shoulder panels, like on Warhammer 40000?
Re: sneak peak: WILDER VAUGH/BLACK MAJOR + RED SHADOWS
they live up to the name 'Shadows' ... need more lighting!
Re: sneak peak: WILDER VAUGH/BLACK MAJOR + RED SHADOWS
this is just a "sneak peak" i'll use better light when they are all ready! they will be 7 strong when they are all finished, red lazer has much more of a japanese feel to him than he did before!Sundance wrote:they live up to the name 'Shadows' ... need more lighting!

Brilliant customs and much better than the CG temporary ones.Ross SC wrote: i know im going to get criticism because they look too close to the base figure, but i dont care!
I think you misunderstand my 'base figure' comments from last time - stick a CG head on any body, it's still a CG. Jin's figure of a Red Shadow looks like Snake Eyes because he hasn't adapted the head sculpt. In fact had Jin done to his figure what you have done to yours, it would have improved it immensely!
I think Red Shadows are like Daleks - you either keep the classic shape or you do a total redesign. Your redesigns are absolutely top notch and easily the best reinvented Red Shadows I've seen. Absolutely brilliant and I can't wait to see them in full lit shots!

i agree about jin's sadows, although i am using snake eyes head for my red vulture, because i think it suits him!
i want a driver look to him, so it seems the perfect choice!

I like your customs ross they are well done I also got criticisms for using Star Wars vehicles and figures but I didn't care I had an idea in my head and followed through with it
