Bootsale blues

Post by plastik »

I thought I would take advantage of the bank holiday and go to a bootsale, not normally something I do as they start far too early. I found a crowd around the one seller who had just pulled up, when I got close he's car was floor to roof filled with old 70's and eighties boxed toys.

There was action man, transformers, scalextric and tons of other stuff I couldnt see, but the crowd dived in and pulled all the stuff out of his car and before I knew it he had sold very rare boxed toys for less than a fiver each, so now I am slightly gutted that I did not get in first.

I've lost things on ebay but its much worse when it happens right in front of you.

on ebay I've stupidly missed loads for one reason or another, the worst was 30 secs before an auction finished, I was just about to enter my bid and my little toe knocked the reset button on the front of my PC which is on the floor and switched it off.

Has anybody else missed out on some cool stuff that they feel they need therapy for?

I'm not sure what the bank holiday represents, never really thought about it before, although the fun of a bank holiday has been tainted since I started working for myself as its a days lost earnings instead!

No idea what it stands for, but I work every Bank Holiday anyway. People still wanna buy food and drink on the day, so the supermarket I work in has to open up. I get to do less work (fewer opening hours means less to bake) and they pay me triple time. I LOVE Bank Holidays!!
There are really only two possibilities: Either there is life in the universe more intelligent than us, or we are the most intelligent form of life in the universe. Either way, it's a pretty worrying thought!
