Thanks v.s.c.,..reattaching the head is about the only repair you can do for the "blue pants" A.M's :-(
The older pre 78 figures are a lot easier to fix up :-) , in fact back in the sixties you could send your Action Man back to Palitoy to have it re-strung & repaired.
I'm not sure if this service was free of charge or was done for a small fee...but I can't see a toy company offering that service any more, as it would hurt sale's for new toys & besides how many kids keep their toys for more than 5 min's nowadays..

I managed to repair an ankle joint that had broken years ago(chute failed to deploy properly)It was pretty simple, just drilled the old broken peg out & replaced with a bolt which just required cutting to right length.Although another has a broken elbow joint that can't be fixed the same way.

I've found another way to fix the heads back on..by using a cable tie in place of the elastic..he's lost a bit of mobility i.e. no sharpshooter poses but other wise it's nice & secure..

The talking "blue pants" figures head is a lot easier re-attach..just unsrew the body & use a O-ring & small peg of some kind to stop it pulling though the slot in the cone..this way you can get full sharpshooter position

Actually you can repair a blue pants AM. The Toltoys ones are all BP. My guys head and arms came off. I carefully sliced apart his biceps, then threaded elastic thru. Did his head at the same time. Quite easy, as long as you are careful.

G'd Day Chopper..Did Toltoys use the english "Dynamic Physique" or the Joe "Life-Like" body for the Actionman back in the late 70's early 80's?

The Joe "Life Like" arms where/are attached by a rubber band thats I've been told perish badly with old age...the only Life-likes we got over here in blighty where Tom Stone & Bullit Man, & very few of 'em have survived without re-stringing

Not entirely sure, but I'd say the English dynamic physique version looks about right. I'll get his kit off and take a snap if you're interested?

Cool ad's. There were no bullet men, Tom Stone's or weird aliens in the Toltoys line-up. I do remember the helicopter back pack. I still have his Pilots gear. I also had the Ducw and the Ferret. The bazooka was my favourite, boy did I used to piss my sister off....
