Custom Lowlight

Post by Malcolm Orr »

Here's my custom Lowlight. I'm sure the eagle-eyed amongst you will spot that it was my Quickfire custom. The camo decor was repainted over, and the hair made blonde. The goggles are actually carefully shaved off a Snake Eyes head in three parts, which was tricky. All-in-all I'm quite pleased with the outcome.

If anyone has the AF version of Lowlight and knows the Birthplace (rather than the GI Joe one though I think the city is the same but the state different) I would be grateful!

Lowlight is one of my faves BJ, tho the only UK version was a made in China marauders variant. Not the grey guy. You can tell if its a UK marauder lowlight version by looking up his date. He has "Made in China" on it ;)

Good job mate.

Superb work (as usual)! And the goggles are superbly done. I've been working on a custom for a week or so now with a lot of cutting filing etc. required, and its been very tense, frustrating work at times. To 'shave' the goggles off a 3 3/4 figure succesfuly takes real skill!

nice custom, are you going to do a grey version more in line with the original (or is he now part SAS)?

I like it alot, do you think the Firefly goggles might work aswell? It might save on all that shaving?

Crom, I have never prayed to you before. I have no tongue for it. No one, not even you, will remember if we were good men or bad. Why we fought, or why we died. All that matters is that two stood against many. That's what's important! Valor pleases you, Crom... so grant me one request. Grant me revenge! And if you do not listen, then to HELL with you! -Conan the Cimmerian

The shaving isn't too bad though. I cut the scalp off and the lower face leaving the goggles as a block, then cut the front part of the glasses, then the sides. It ruins the head of course, but it was spare. But, yes, using premade goggles are easier

Malcolm, please can you reload these images? I didn't get a chance to save them to my hard drive.
