25th Black Hyena

Post by Chopper »

Ok, I went into toys r us, and there was the last Hiss. I'd been eye balling it for a few weeks. Now it was sitting there all by itself. Not on sale any more either. All the other vehicles had sold out. :-( I'd been meaning to grab it but new I'd have to wait a week or 2 till I could afford to get some bits from the US to repair my Joes of evilbay. I picked it up and looked at it, would I be able to resist this tangible torture test. would it be there next week if I didn't buy it? Would the Joe bits be on ebay next week? Why bother, I have a AF Crimson Hyena being airlifted in atm anyway? Can you even have too many Hyena's? Will the wife be pissed? There was a Wampa sitting next to it taunting me as well. Oh and a raft of those Blackhawk's and F-22's.... All the same price too. Fark Man, life's tough.

Bugger it, who cares, bought it any way :-D

Destro looks awesome in it, plus I get some more cobra fodder. My Cobra guys needed some more armoured support, the AF Troops outnumber them 3 to 1. Where the hell am I gonna put all this stuff anyway? If the wife ask's, its all BFTB's fault

Gotta say the 25th figures suck. The HISS commander is considerably taller than my Destro figure, he just looks like he needs a good feed. Not enough Kai, bro.

the right decision was made my friend! I'm going to try to get one of them, as thinking I'll never find an old one!

I don't think I've ever regretted buying a toy.

Glad it's not just me who sits and dithers about buying something! Always end up doing it in the end.
When confronted by a difficult problem you can solve it more easily by reducing it to the question. How would the Lone Ranger handle this?

I'll dither for weeks. Must be a mental problem. I just ordered a heap of Joe limbs from an ebay seller in the US this morning too. Spent my allowance early ;) Should complete about half a dozen figures that have been nagging me for a while. Figure parts are a pita, I try and locate as many thru a single seller as possible to limit postage costs and issues with the dodgy Aussie Dinari atm. Also nabbed a Tripwire v4 figure from the same buyer. Going to repaint him black and grey ;)

Anyway my army is now out of room. Next week when all this stuff arrives I'm sure my wife will give me that stern look. sh*t happens, I guess.

The driver for the Hyena (I can't bring myself to call it a HISS) is the blue guy, an officer. I much prefer blue for Cobra and red for the Shads.

My daughter had a couple of Furbies, they are in the garden somewhere I think. Probably had a visit from Mr Mower. She collects Littlest pet shops now. Mostly because my son is on a Star Wars bent and with my AF figures she doesn't want to be left out I think. She's got a pretty impressive collection now. Nothing like extorting yer Nana with a cheesy smile.

Oh and Steve, the Black HISS tanks are quite prevalent on ebay, even crimson ones.

I actually really like the 25th hiss driver, the sculpt is awesome! it's weird, the palitoy figures were pretty realistic, then the early jointed figures were really...... well not human! over the years they got even more stupid, but now i think that the 25th figures are the best jointed figures around, i think hasbro has done a good job with them!
personal opinion i know, but they arent as bad as people make out....

I picked one up yesterday in the local Forbidden Planet, they are about £18/19 and had a couple more there is anybody wants me to pick one up?

Having never owned a Hiss or Hyena, I really like it. Have already ditched the 25th figure and got some old skool looking vipers in there.

Good job Dave. They are extremely close to the original. only 2 real differences, the back foot pegs are smaller and there are 3 lugs that hold the turret down, rather than 2. Very happy with mine, I got the original red Hyena from SteveD too, cleaned up a treat.

Yeah I think it's pretty cool, although I think they could have updated the cockpit to have a console or something similar. They had the Flight Pod there too, which looks the same, but does anyone know what other Cobra vehicles have they re-issued using the same old moulds?
