Planes ..... a bit off topic
Planes ..... a bit off topic
Guy's there's always lots of great stuff to look at in this section, I never seem to have the ideas of stuff to customise so I though I'd stick up some pics of my creativity in another area. I think I improve a wee bit with every model I turn out. Also playing with a new airbrush as well so I've had so real disasters with that!

Love the work there Paul
There is a great deal of skill involved in painting those kits, steady hands for the pilots!
Are they 1/72 scale?

Thanks Andy. They are all 1/48 scale. I prefer the bigger ones to try detailing the cockpit and so on, any smaller than 1/48 and I find it too fiddly, bad eyesight and all.
HAd some disasters with the airbrush though was spraying a Typhoon (WW2 type) and managed to spray the wall an my framed prints. 10 minutes after cleaning up the first mess I did exactly the same again! Who says lightning doesn't strike twice!

I still have a BF109 at 1/48 ready to be built.
Never got round to it!
I`ve been told that if you get yourself a nice size box, cut a couple of sides out and airbrush in that, it can save incidents like yours.
You can even put a lamp in for more light for the fiddly bits
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/50CM-STUDIO-PHOTO ... .m14.l1318
These are in the same train of thought but good for taking photos for ebaying.
If you`ve mastered the models like you have on your photos, you won`t have any problems with
1/18 scale Action Force customs.
You probably have a head start with the paints and airbrush.

Thanks for that link it looks like a super piece of kit. Forgot to mention above that I was spraying in a box I had lifted the model up to get at a fiddly bit! Thankfully I have never done it three times!

I`m going to be investing in some really small brushes soon, the ones the Warhammer
painters use. Going to need them for the small figure logo`s and stripes etc.
What airbrush are you using? I`ve heard the Badger ones are really good, bit out of my price league at the mo. but worth it in the end.

Any top tips on putting tank tracks on Tintin?
I`ve had many a frustrated hour trying to fit them on!

The Badger air brushes are really good. I use an Aztec http://www.wonderlandmodels.com/Profess ... 56130.html I pushed the boat out a bit at the end of last year.
Like Tintin I've got loads still to build (close to 60), got some really nice Tamiya and Hasegawa kits that I won't touch until my skills are up a bit.

Re: Planes ..... a bit off topic
Here is the pics i said i would post seeing as i am at my mum's for the night, I dusted them and they still look bloomin dusty also didn't want to do too much as i now have to repair a few of them because of it as you will see they were all complete but i broke some bits tonight and some a while ago but i have pictured them any way.
Regarding the tracks i can't remember exactly but i did the wheels and the paint first, then i glued the tracks and somehow manouvered them over the wheels holding the glued parts of the track with pin snips bloody tricky i know that but until i do another and it all comes back to me that's the best i can explin it for now
