GI JOE Devils Due TPBs

Post by irishal »

Im a big Action Force fan, collected the complete run in Battle, but i never really got into the Marvel GI Joe stuff. I think Action Force had just more of a British feel to it (I always have enjoyed British comics more than American ones, 2000AD, Dredd, Battle, Victor, etc - no offence to our American friends, actually I am enjoying the Ultimate Marvel range at the minute).

So my question is, do you all think I would enjoy the Devils Due stuff (hearing about the new Red Shadows excited me). If so what are the TPB names and how many of them are there in the correct order?

Cheers in Advance

I SAY YES BUY IT! its what got me into coming here and REALLY GETTING into Action Force, I was a little aware of ACTION FORCE before but never really looked at it and so once I learned about the Red Shadows in Devils Due I had to know more and I came here. It created MANY MANY new fans and helped bring back this fandom so I say YES buy it. I loved it and its one of the Trade Paper Backs that I read over and over.

Now with that said

there really is ONLY one trade paperback that features them as a primary enemy

That is GI JOE (DEVILS DUE) A REAL AMERICA HERO Volume 8 "RISE OF THE RED SHADOWS"

It has some major repercussions of the GI JOE Universe too

now there is a small cameo ( two pages ) of the Red shadows in a later issues of Americas Elite. check the declassified threads on Artur Kulik, Dela Eden, and Wilder Vaughn, that I have in the comics section for those Americas Elite Issue that have small cameos of them. I have all thier comics appearances listed there.

Also Dela eden was shown a lot in the latest issue of Americas Elite issue #31 and will be a major player in future issues and I would be suprised if we didnt see more of the Red Shadows before the end of World War III and Devils Due loses the license

oh ya ACTION FORCE makes a cameo ( quarrel, hunter, Blades and Moondancer ) in issue 30 of americas elite

if you want more RED SHADOWS then please buy these issues and support them . More sales on these issues will only show the powers that be, that we want more and will support it.

also sign the petition on the front page ( save the red shadows ) we need as many signtures as possible!

You've sold me. Is there anywhere I can find a complete list of the Devils Due TPB, I just got my annual bonus at work, so after giving my wife some and doing some sh*t round the house, I have a couple hundred quid left so I might buy them all at once (I prefer reading them that way, rather than indiviual comics). Also is it just one series on TPBs or would a need to buy a few different sets?

a list, not that I know of but you can buy them all from Devils Due directly and ya I buy the trade paperbacks too and prefer them in that format as well so I understand

and ya there are a few series out there

first I will start with the DONT BUYS

GI JOE SIGMA SIX ( kids version of GI JOE and new continuity )
GI JOE RELOADED ( alternate conitnuity with duke being evil )
GI JOE COBRA REBORN ( alternate conitnuity with duke being evil )

Okay with that out of the way

First thier is classic larry hama in GI JOE DECLASSIFIED

then SNAKE EYES DECLASSIFIED

Then Master and Apprentice ( one of the best )

Thier is a single Double sized issue of SCARLETT DECLASSIFIED that is not in a Trade Paper Back

then thier is GI JOE a REAL AMERICAN HERE by Devils Due that has 8 volume ( including the rise of the Red Shadows Volume 8 , which is also the last one in this series )

THen thier is GI JOE FRONT LINE ( I think 4 trade paper backs ) ( first one is larry hama and 3rd one is good too the second one was so so)

Then thier is GI JOE AMERICAS ELITE will be a total of 6 volume but 4 is only available now, the last 4 volumes are awesome with the first two being pretty good

THen thier is SPecial Missions Trade Paper Backs too, these are a lot of fun as well.

oh thier is a dreadnocks declassified as well too

MUST HAVEs are the Red Shadows one so make sure you get that one
I would also say SNake eye declassified ,Master and Apprentice, GI JOE declassified , and Front line volume 1 by larry hama is a must have

As well as the last 4 volumes of Americas Elite, some of the best stuff we have ever gotten

I get the trade paperbacks from Forbidden Planet, the Nottingham store has quite a few of the older ones including rise of the red shadows. You should be able to get them from most comic stores or they might be able to order the newer ones for you...

They are about #15 but i found some on sale for about #5-#6 so quite a saving on Amazon...
