Newbie signing in :)

Post by Darl »

Hi all, great to be here - can't believe I've only just found you! just spend a few hours having a read around the forums - I've missed so much :(

Name's Daryl, most call me Darl, I'm a Photography teacher based in Leicester (UK), and collect vintage Star Wars figures (just need some of the last 17), recently found all my old AF figures in my parents attic and all the great memories came flooding back - drawing all the team logos on my school books, collecting Battle Action Force in ring binders (yeah, I punched holes in them - well, I was young i didn't know what I was doing) - I don't think I have the comics anymore, which is a shame as it kind if started my comic collection - something I still do now.
I'm hoping to collect a full et of figures - mostly 2nd gen, but I might venture in to the first ones as well.

My first figure was the orange Frogman (hence my profile pic) - my grandparents owned a newsagents and it came free with an issue of Battle (not sure if it was with Action Force then) - they also had the Ground Assault figure, which I got as well, then ran round all the other newsagents in the area trying to find other figures - I didn't find any more :(

Anyhow - enough ramblings - I'm looking forward to being a part of the group and finishing off my loose collection (knowing the completist in me, I'll probably end up getting all the variants as well :/ )

Thanks for listening :)

Daryl

G'day mate, sounds like the same way most of us got started. A frighteningly common story. :-)
Let me tell you, Gunner La-De-Dah Graham, the British Army can fight anything! Intimate or not!

I used to - had all of them (loose, carded, variations etc etc), sold them a few years ago..

I started collecting the 6" Black Series, but kind of gave up on them a few months ago.

Hello and welcome. I have plenty loose series 2 and some series 1 that I'd be happy to sell on. A ton of aqua troopers too!
When confronted by a difficult problem you can solve it more easily by reducing it to the question. How would the Lone Ranger handle this?

Me too.
Sold loads of my figures and battle packs to cover xmas a couple years ago and of course these are the figures that now go for serious coin.
Ahhh the ongoing plight of the broke collector.

Couldnt get to into the 6 inchers prefer the 4 inch.

Tho gotta say my missus is into bigger haha.
