Real World Air Defence

Post by Quickfire »

A rare foray into the :maf: era for mich myself.

Whilst wasting another hour on finding the :zforce: attack cannon, realised the Air Defence is worth flagging as a US Navy SAM known as the RIM 2 Terrier in service from c. 1957 into the ? mid-1960s. Or it's at least an analog.

Also it didn't seem to be on listed on ODB's handy link (although wilful ignorance of certain designations of the Joe line is a given in Haus Schnellfeuer)

Colour version of an early model perhaps reinforces the case too ...

Wasn't this system one of the first ship borne setups? I seem to recall these replacing turrets on some vessels.
Let me tell you, Gunner La-De-Dah Graham, the British Army can fight anything! Intimate or not!

I've always wondered, when the 2 missiles have been fired how the hell do they re-load? They'd need a cherry picker on deck :duh:

Blody hell! So basically a third of the ship is used to load the missiles! Maybe a cherry picker would have been less hasstle?
