That's a great diorama I love seeing them like this I remember a school in Wigan i went to had a Robin Hood diorama with a massive Nottingham castle we all thought you could buy those soldiers not that it was specially made. The dio also had a lasting effect on me as whenever I see something like it I love to look at any I see.

The fact that it appears in the comic makes me suspect a 3D model was crafted.

well, I started with the guy who made them, and he has nothing left from those days, AF, Star Wars or otherwise. That piece would have been on display for the January 83 toyfair and unless duplicates were made for key account retailers, it is quite possible it was the only one made and current whereabouts unknown or possibly destroyed. The only one I know of that exists today is this one:

Dave.
ooooooooo!!!!!! thats rather good, maybe one of the more creative members on here could make something like that for the :af: convention?

Yeah, a huge dio table in the centre would be brilliant, but we'd need to devise a way of merging collections without any mixups. Obviously it would have to be secure from pickpockets as well.

No chance! They become visible over time.

I'm thinking more of colour-coded dot stickers.

you could designate member teams as it were, they organise the dio together so collections don't get mixed perhaps have them near or on the stands and have someone present at all times?

That might be simplest, arrange separate table areas for each member. But then we miss the opportunity for a massive Shad army...

perhaps not, still have the centre piece but just as a shadow dio, have a small area for each member name carded but it would build up the whole thing into one mass army, wouldn't hurt for a few members to take turns to watch over it for an hour at a time.

Can we move this chat over to the Convention thread?
