Oh, so you don't mind the Red Shadows becoming Cobra then? I really like the character the Black Major and they just like fazed him out. Marvel was much like Joes in that they just used AF over GI Joe, so that doesn't really fit. Then you have this later line that looks like DD started and then Rising Sun continued to some degree. The biggest difference is that DD had this new :enemy: faction with :major: leading them kill everyone linked to :enemy:, including Cobra Commander or :baron2:, by your point. The Rising Sun just had them capture :baron2: and then keep a few that were killed like :jackal: and stuff like that were fleshed out more, when DD just killed them off. Too many story lines with too many different variables that it just becomes a mess. I don't remember Joe comics doing that, but they still have some messed up stories, which I think it's do to too many with there hand in it. I don't really like any of the DD comics because of that, but that is Hasbro for you .

I would have to agree on the linear part to a point, but anything after that is all over the place. In turn I guess it became like Joe then . Maybe Hasbro did have a hand in totally messing it up too .

it's just easier to think of BAF, MAF, Joes and the toons as the seperate entities they all are and not try mixing and matching to fit them all together to me.

and no, i don't count DDP's comics on account of neer having read them.

you have to count MAF as seperate to the US Joe comics because events happen in a different order and sometimes for different reasons in the UK comics with them being re-written and printed out of order and the extra UK stories.

if you want to really mangle your noodle, try putting together a joint continuity where AF were involved in the plots of the MAF comics in place of the Joe characters!

How does every body else explain the use of G.I.Joe vehicles (like the tanks & Panther jeep) being used by :AFLogo:?

I've always thought of :AFLogo: ( :zforce: :sas: etc) as being a separate European based & funded rapid reaction force like organisation, who use modified & re-named, licensed built/ export versions of Joe vehicles & other equipment.

I guess you are right. It much like the same with Joes and that whole Cobra-La story . That is just too much and I don't have it in my Joe world. I guess I have to do the same to include AF and Shadows, is just leave stuff out.

That takes me back to how they explained the HAWK becoming the FANG . Granted to a kid it would be okay out they told the story, but knowing that the world doesn't work like that, it's just craziness. Even is Cobra or Red Shadows if you perfer, would have destroyed all of AF HAWKs, why then wouldn't they just build more? It isn't like the factory that was building them was taken out. Plans to it should have been in more places that the one that Cobra took. I'm sorry if I'm over stepping here, but it just doesn't make any sense to me.

On the other hand with allied countries you would see the use of same vehicles and equipment, so that totally relates and I could see that were US and UN special teams would be using same gear.

Yeah, that plot line was one of the less believable ones...& with :destro: & M.A.R.S sales policy its totally plausible that both :sas:, & :cobra: could both use the same weapons (F.A.N.G/ Hawk) platform too.
O.K. so in the real world, the U.N. or U.S government would probably try to veto any arms deal with a known criminal terrorist arms supplier, so another explanation could be that the :cobra: version is a cheap copy of the :sas: prototype? Same deal with :enemy: laser canon too?

One of the good points to Larry Hama's Joe comics were the small plot details, like when the newly forming ex soviet block countries were buying arms from both the U.S & :cobra: to supply thier armed forces, it added a nice bit of realism.

End of the day its a made up story about toys. BUT, the BAF angle seems much more believable to me. The HAWK thing is possible, just not probable. As for being OK with The Baron becoming CC. Yeah, that's fine with me. The Major never got phased out either, he cropped up right till the end.

Joe vehicles in the AF verse is easy too. How many countries have F-16's? Dozens. They are just vehicles. Maybe the joes do exist in the AFverse, just not as they appear in the Joeverse.

I've tried to think of a way to bridge BAF and MAF (which seems to be far more sensible and offers some kinda bridge to the Joeverse), but the BIO's have been all shagged up. They could be ignored tho.

See the AF CC was different to the Joe CC, so its an alternate universe. As for the Shads appearing in the Joe verse, just because CC isn't The Baron in that line doesn't mean they never existed. See. Easy. ;-)

Because of the use of Quarrel and some others in DDP's last story BAF to a degree was amalgamated into DDP's continuity as were Argen 7 and some cartoon elements.
Spock, where the hell's the power you promised?
