Thanks guys

These are certainly Marvel AF styled creations. Ie the Middle East is very much like an Indiana Jones scene than anything realistic

Desert Shadows would surely be more of less the same as genuine ones, but beige, or like Muton/Chopper's design. Ross does some wonderful army customs in a more realistic manner - I'd like to see his more realistic Desert Shadows too if he ever gets the itch!!!

BAF was much more realistic in it's look (even if it did have to incorporate Kraken), whereas Marvel AF and GI Joe is unashemedly superhero comics without the overt powers.

So my hope is to have a shadow that screams to you 'Middle Eastern Arabic Shadow' even if, in terms of realism, it doesn't quite add up!!!

Thanks! Tey are the Temple of Doom guard figures.

The plan was for one to have a looser turban so you could see the edge of the mask. After an hour I had the lip if the mask looking OK, but, big kid that I am, I added the turban before the other milliput had hardened, so I has to abandon it becauseit warped and did a full turban mask.

Also, with hindsight, it would have been better to paint the mask first then add the turban.

If anyone wants one of these, I would have to use a genuine Shadow head as replicating the mask is very time consuming!!!! (and it would look better that way too)

hes very similar to a top trumps character in the dinosaur set and they couldnt be wrong... he even had 9 for intelligence which was way more than any of the others...

Your right there Malcolm..art & story wise the B.A.F. stories came from the same tradition as the old Commando/Warlord type of comics..before Marvel got the Joe comic rights, Larry Hama had originaly purposed a series called Fury Force, a sort of secret green berets story much like G.I.Joe, with Nick Fury's son as the leader.

fury force would have been awesome, until for no reason his father suddenly becomes black & poor nick fury jr. realizes he's adopted & goes off the rails & develops a drinking problem!

seriously tho, i think fury force would have been sweet!

i was wondering about these guys, im working on claymore (i think) next & was wondering what peoples take on the shadows was, are they dressed in red, or white? i see them as just having red masks, wearing bright red in the snow is just ridiculous even for them!
have thought about making one......
