Helmeted :baron: looks a bit weird, but unhelmeted :baron2: is great, and :laser: is almost perfect.

Very nice looking figures there - takes things in a different direction from my Palitoy roots, but I can appreciate them certainly. Keep them coming.

Very cool customs, i like the Sigma 6 figs, i wish i had space to display my collection of them. These are the first Red Shadow customs i have seen in Sigma 6 style, very nicely done.

Welcome to the site,& congratulations on a ace 1st post :-D

I like the Sigma 6 design aesthetically wise, but never felt comfortable with it being a Joe spin off...I always feel it should of been something all of its own, like a totally new line of toys with their own story. Forgive me if I've got the wrong impression of the line to be honest apart from seeing the odd one in collectors shops I don't know any of the history or setting of the whole Sigma 6 idea.

Still, good work..style wise, I find that it's very reminiscent of Manga in appearance.

the manga influence was part of the relaunch of this series. a relaunch with so many plot holes and inconsistancies. starts with a new recruit of gi joe visiting a bed ridden Hawk... still recovering from the genesplicing that took place during Valor vs Venom. he mentioned they captured Cobra Commander 20 years ago... the series used designs left over from the abandoned Robot Rebellion project :. new recruit is told his code name is Duke, so Duke visits CC in prison just to get ambushed be Zartan (disguised as the guard) Buzzer, Torch and Machete (the new guy).

storywise I had given up on the series at this point, however designs from this kitchy series is a blanket of inflence on RoC. the Delta 6 accelerator suits where used while they are clearly the Sigma 6 POWER suit, the series featured Destro and Baroness each with nanotech augmentations and weaponry. I am no fan of the series yugioh banter between characters but it was made for that demographic, comparing tech design and format if Sigma was aimed at the original fanbase it would have been Resolute.

The toys make me think of Spiral Zone, Centurions, COPS, Visionaries and Marshall Bravestarr, in fact I originally passed the series off as a Centurion relaunch. I avoided them for almost a year, I infact bought a snakeeyes for a visor part for a Transformer custom I was working on. now I have over 150 individual figures maybe two of which are not customs, the true pain of the series was the utter lack of female figures.

Thanks for the intel'....it sounds like a case of good well designed product being spoiled by poor media campaign & story telling. Hasbro should of launched this style of figure as a separate entity in its own right, having said that I could see some of the later 'new' Actionman charactors looking good in this aesthetic.

Now... a Centurions re-launch, if done correctly, would be most welcome indeed 8-)

Sigma 6 Duke is a new recruit in the DVD release only. The TV version implies that he's the same :duke: from Valor vs Venom and he reflects about :cobracommander: having been captured just last month (or at least mere months ago). I liked the 1st season (at last an animated series that did  justice), but then season 2 took theawful "they are new guys" approach from the DVD featuring :firefly: as a Joe recruit would he have been the same classic character, the Joes would have suspected from the 1st episode of the season that he was a COBRA spy

O.K so I may be being totally ignorant (or incredibly dense) but why was the line called Sigma 6?

I was sorta thinking it's due to the figures 6" scale.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G.I._Joe:_Sigma_6

the title itself is a play on the Six Sigma formula of removing defects and minimizing variability

the gimick was that all team members are outfitted with sigma suits, similar to the reactive armor in the convoy attack from RoC but not as fancy as the Accelerator suits, they put everyone at least on par to SnakeEyes physical prowess, Scarlett's marksmanship, adjusting muscle memory and such all Trekkie technobable at this point, basicly the joes where like the first season power rangers

the general design was onesize fits all
