When :major: got his green beret, I was afraid there would be colouring mistakes returning it top blue. Luckily that didn't happen.
He looks more like the adult :major: in the splash-page, but that's the fault of the original penciller.
And the story... :major: is a cheating bastard! He's using more trickery and less real ability each time (save for the previous chapter)

Thanks Double Tap, I researched Marine uniforms (as well as other kit that's worn later on in story) I agree Sundance Shephard's a petty tosspot ..he really treats Chas badly in this story who's a excellent soldier by merit not by trickery .I guess The Majors about 18 in this part of the story DA, if he's doing Marine training his face may be blackened up making him look much older in splash page..still I think the original colourist got uniform wrong(does later on too on a few covers)..doubt it was John Burns(the regular colourist on BAF) must of been another guy ..Shep gets badder and badder as story goes on ..

I thought :major: was gonna stop the robbers like he did with the poachers... but he's getting more into darkness! How bad but how cool!
Aren't marine greatcoats blue (like :gungho: v2) rather than the green :major: is wearing at the tailor? I could be wrong, my military knowledge is even less than my social knowledge.

US Marines wear blue. RM wear green.

edit: well... a decco at wikipedia reveals the RMs wear green 'service dress', dark blue parade dress and scarlet and blue 'mess dress'.

but Gung Ho is USMC and so a)in a different country and b) in a different unit.

And the moral of this story is look before you post!
When confronted by a difficult problem you can solve it more easily by reducing it to the question. How would the Lone Ranger handle this?

Have to admit didn't research Marine Greatcoats as far as I remember thought it would be a coat the Tailor would of suggested although I did research hat .. Do officers actually have to travel to Bond street to get fittings? I'd of thought they'd do that at the barracks.
I expected as a youth when I first read this that The Major would go to the cops .. he's going to take advantage of the situation himself instead so a good twist in the story .
