I'm currently working on my lego

and it got me wondering - what was the backpack originally from? It's clearly meant for a figure with a whole in it's back, but I cant think which fig it was borrowed from? Any ideas?

I'm not convinced - I think it's a real set of diving tanks, done on a boil wash, then painted red. Or perhaps a full sized set just looked st from a distance?
