Should I remove the 1993 archives?
Re: Should I remove the 1993 archives?
well, here's the thing...
if you want to be a Pallitoy Nazi, where do you draw the line?
Series 2? or Pallioty packaging Series 3? and if you only include series 1 and 2, do you still incorporate the SA Kayak, Triad, Sea Lion and Roboskull?
if you want to be uber anal, do you even include the stuff repainted from US stuff?
if you want to be inclusive, then do you draw the line at Pallitoy packaging or at the name Action Force?
if you draw the line at the name, then are you only covering up til they changed it to GI Joe: The Action Force? or until it became just GI Joe?
personally, I'd draw the line at the end of GI Joe in 1993. After that, every thing was just US releases with no changes, but even up until 1993 they were still changing characters' birthplaces on the filecards; like making Wet Suit V3 from Torquay and Roadblock from Brixton.
i just wouldn't include Streetfighter II because it's not part of GI Joe, despite how it was packed.

Well, the option of axing everything GI Joe, non-Palitoy, or non-UK exclsuive was never on the table, I'm not going to wipe away all of the archives I've spent all year building. Saying that GI Joe has nothing to do with Action Force is silly, especially when lauding the connection with Action Man.
Also the main reason BFTB has taken off is because we have been embraced by the worldwide GI Joe community, these discussions may be seen as insulting to them. I'm a bit irritated that this old debate has crept it's way back into this thread.
87-89 are the Hasbro AF Years. 90 is the GIJAF year. 91 is the first Joe year, but contained UK exclusives of Lowlight, Mutt and Spirit as well as further Tiger Force releases. These are all fine.
92 is an extension of the Joe range, 93 is the lame breakaway year. However, Sundance has nailed the debate by pointing out the UK variant filecards that ran throughout the entire range. This is enough to convince me to keep the archives intact.
Now, does anybody have any of the 1993 filecards?

Which is what I would call UK releases and would have to agree 100%. So I hereby retract my vote and say they should stay. I never new they were UK packaged, I'd assumed they were just US Joe's.The Baron wrote:Sundance has nailed the debate by pointing out the UK variant filecards that ran throughout the entire range. Oh, don't get me wrong..no one can deny the close links between
& G.I.Joe (or indeed A.M & Joe) & I'd never wish to do so, it's just that my personal introduction to the
& co/
came via the U.S. Marvel Joe comics 1st & not the U.K Battle:Action Force comics..so I always think of them as Joe's.

More news, as its made, from new Action Force!
