Interesting to see actually - they do it a bit different to me, but interesting to see how others do it, and some useful tips in there.

I dont think I ever posted about this, but I did actually try removeable Shadow helmets, very similar to those shown there for the Stormtroopers. The dimensions of the helmets are such though that it's just not possible without losing the correct "look". The lower helmet where it joins the neck has to be really wide to fit a head into, and it makes it just look silly.

thought about removable shad helmets myself.
thought about using 1/16 scale model kit german helmets or using removable CG helmet with a bit of sculpting

Only kidding mate! Folks always know that my heads are here if they need them, and theres no mad science behind it really, just takes some time and effort to do.

With removeable helmets all my attempts ended up looking a bit like bobble heads - too top heavy. I may next try shaving some off the back of the head itself - it's how I got the hollowed out helemt to fit my for that custom I did some time ago. May work well to hollow out a head, and get it to fit a or style generic head inside with some reshaping, then cast from them and produce them from there. One more for the "to try" list it seems though!

What about using a standard german helmet and some sort of rubber face-visor, like Ripcord has?

I'm going to try a full helmet of rubber, but got to work out how I cast it with a head in there too! Failing that it'll be a solid helmet and back, with a welded on front. Got lots of ideas, but not enough hours!
