Ahhh - yes! That was it. Witches were thought to be made of wood werent they, hence the floating thing. Our ancestors were so cultured!

I'll just be in the garage digging out my ducking stool form beneath the boxes at the back. I always forget - is it "floats=burning" or "sinks=burning"???

Burn them first then do the ducking test, otherwise how would you burn damp stuff?
