A few head swaps

Post by humby248 »

I tried a few simple head swaps and this is what I came up with.

I love the grey beret, I did one last year because its just a crying shame Palitoy didn't. I have a few customs to post this week, thanks to Paul. Here's my SAS guy, I have since put a yellow cap badge on him too, great minds and all that ;-)

The grey beret is the best. Like the earlier thread about this I think that grey rather than the real life SAS sand works perfectly on these.

I was going to do it in a sand colour too, but Palitoy won out over reality ;-)

Nice work.
The grey beret suits the :sas: force better than sand colour would...
I used sand for my 1st wave custom, as I was trying to keep to the "authentic" army uniform theme of the 1st wave.

Whats you guys feeling on painting the cap badges? I know they stand out better painted, but I like to "keep it real" and not paint them as Palitoy didn't or couldn't with the technology of the time.

I was'nt really sure until I painted it and then thought it looked better. I don't know why they did'nt do it as they painted the small detail on the German Stormtrooper and Red Shadows collar and chest.

I agree with Humby, a small dab of yellow really makes it look good. I have a Z chap I put a black cap badge on too, it looks good as well.
