I traded a Night Attack Chopper with Steve2477 and was would like to customise it to SAS. The only problem is that it is for the little man so I think that even though he is a good lad, a paint job may eventually become damaged. So I thought of removing the green off it. I try scraping a small part but this shows so was wondering has anyone ever managed to remove the factory paint without damaging the plastic?
Also need the wing stubs for it if anyone has any.

removing paint can be a pain, you can use acetone but need to be really careful as it can melt the plastic!
if you take it apart, base coat it then use enamels it will be pretty tough to damage!

I thought that maybe the case mate. Probably the paint job then. Must admit there is more colours available with acrylic but I do prefer enamels as it allows the boy to play with some of the customs.

I've managed to remove some of the weaker paint applications off old stuff, accidentally, wilst using WD-40 to polish & clean plastics in the past...
Would you recommend using a varnish or some form of protective top coat as well Ross?

I will give that a go Thundershot. I always think a coat of varnish is well worth the effort. Especially with the satincote.

Re: Night Attack Chopper advice
I use Mr Muscle oven cleaner - squirt it on, leave it overnight and clean the old paint off, no problem at all.

Re: Night Attack Chopper advice
So funny you mention Mr Muscle in the forum, since the Mr Muscle character from the commercials looks so similar to Action Man from the CGI movies
