what Bagged Action Force figures are there?...

i know the para attack and silent attack came with bagged figures as i have them both, the mailaway commander i assume came in a bag as did the mailaway skeletron figure, i would like to know if there were any other action force figures that were available bagged as im a big collector of the star wars bagged figures and i know you could get pretty much all of those in bags especially when they had them all reduced to sell but what about the Action Force range?

Well, most likely all of the boxed vehicles that came with figures.

I have to say I remember my Green Major and Skeltron being sent in cardboard boxes, not bags.

My grunt wasnt bagged just boxed also... Pretty sure my boxed shadowtrak had the figure in with some other bits in a poly bag - not on his own...

dont know if you want to consider them or not but the very first joecon hasbro bagged a bunch of left over stock of Blades and Quarrel for convention attendees

A local discount warehouse, had shed loads of Anakin Skywalker figures in baggies back in the mid 80's..but all the discounted I remember ever seeing, or buying @ the time, were miss-carded & weaponless.

The palitoy factory vid on Youtube shows a big box full of loose Darth Vaders which are ready to be carded, not sure if this was common for all Star Wars or AF though...

I got talking to a toy dealer once who's wife used to work packaging Star Wars figures in the early 80's, she told him it was the most boring repetative job she'd ever done in her life..@ the end of the shift, they'd sweep up loads of weapons & accessories, that had been droped on the floor, & bin 'em.

Thats the one cheers! I dont imagine the factories would put the extra hard work in to bag the figures at one end only to have to rip them open at the other...

The only non vehicle ones I have are Cobra Officer and Scarlett:





However as for them being bagged up between molding and packaging phases, I don't believe they were, as they would be supplied in component limbs for sonic welding.

Through the other figure offers my 'Buy 3 get 1 free' was a carded 2 Para - so they may have not have used bagged figures then, but my Kraken was bagged.

There was however a Factory Shop. This allowed employees to purchase toys at a fraction of the retail price. Sometimes they were seconds or did not pass the QA, so were sold off through that outlet. They would usually feature some kind of stamp on the packaging. I have a Charlie's Angels Doll that as the Factory Shop stamp on the back of the card and have seen Star Wars Play Doh sets with the same on numerous occasions. Non Vehicle bagged figures - such as the ones above, may have been available through that outlet. I do know those two were picked up in the Leicester area.

Another possibility is that of mail order, but have yet to find an example that Action Force figures were a mail order through UK Home Shopping Catalogues like Kays, Grattens etc. I have many pages/ scans from the Palitoy research from Star Wars, and have a few good Action Force pages, but none of mail order figures only. I do have access to looking into it, just low on the priority.

Cobra Commander hooded was an early GI Joe mail-away figure obviously now outside of the ROC version they only do him hooded but the first one had the battle mask.
