Question on Red Laser / Cobra Commander Gun

Hello,

I have been looking to get a replacement Red Laser black blaster pistol and was put onto the fact that the Cobra Commander gun was the same by some of the more knowledgeable Forum members.

So I started to look and have found a few options. The Gun in question seems to be available in light blue, dark blue, dark grey and black from descriptions I have seen and version I have seen offered.

The blue guns are not so helpful to me but I was wondering if the dark grey and black guns were actually different, or if they were really the same?

I have not been able to work this out form the pictures on the site unfortunately so I thought I would throw it our here and see if anyone could shed some light on this for me….

Mine's a dark grey.

If you stick around and watch the Variants/Bodyparts Thread, we shall eventually get to Red Laser, and hopefully people will note any differences in gun color. You may be right in that there are many variations in colour.

Ta for letting me know yours is dark grey I supect that the "black" guns will mostly fall into the category of being made from the dark grey to black plastic that seemed to get used.

I wonder if the dark grey is in fact faded black?

I suspect not, as i remember thinking at the time it was bought for me (brand new) that the colour matched the under-carriage of the Laser Exterminator, and the missile bits & pieces of the Shadowtrak (Red Laser's gun was my favourite weapon!). I suppose they are made form the same plastic stock.

The European Baron Ironblood (Baron Eisenblut) seems to have been supplied with a black 'Red Laser' gun, and so you may have acquired one of those?

That is helpful as a dark grey or black gun would be OK for me to get for my unarmed which will make it a bit easier for me to find I hope. There are a few floating about at the moment on Ebay US, it is just they either will not ship to the UK or the shipping is damn expensive, on top of an already expensive gun!

My original came with a dark grey pistol, I picked up another on ebay a few years back and bought him a v1 pistol from ebay US. They are identical.

Just to add to the mix, the pistol was also released in red with the German TSATT

As far as I know he did Eddie - do you mean Hooded Cobra Commander, or Mickey Mouse Cobra Commander? I've got a few hooded guys and they definitely came with it. And I think Mickey Mouse CC did too.

As for MOC , Paul and I have decided (in our own Action Force Kangaroo Court) that he came with not only that gun, but the same gun as Major Bludd.

yep the hooded version, by mickey mouse do you mean the 1987 odd looking one?

No, there was a very early version of , where the logo is crap, and looks like Micky Mouse. He was available first as a mail away, before they tidied up the logo and put him for sale, rather than as a freebie. This early one became known as the Mickey Mouse Cobra Commander.

I'll try to find some pics - got some on my memory stick somewhere, although i've not personally got the figure.
