stephen sommers was interviewed briefly in SFX and he said it's not just a toy movie, you will care about the characters and it's got a bit of Bond vibe to it.

i dunno how long the 'Paris Pursuit' set piece is, i'm just going on the comment on comicbookresources.com and my own viewiing of the trailers and ads.

Oh sure there was that but there were also alot of aspects of the original franchises (mass shifting, dinobots etc) that were apparently shunned because they were thought to be "unrealistic"...y'know, in a film about GIANT TALKING ALIEN ROBOTS That's all I meant about it taking itself too seriously, I should have explained myself better, sorry.

apparently, reports from those who've seen it early suggest the much-derided 'Halo suits' aren't used as prominently as the trailers suggest. (although if you've watched these things as much as i have, you'd realise they seem to be in one set-piece that we've seen various clips from)
