the eighties run from 1981 to 1990. the nineties run from 1991 to 2000. 2001 is the sart of the 21st century, the new millennium.

hey, i didn't make it up, don't blame me. i was told it back in 1990 and people went on about the 2000/2001 thing back then as well.

i think it's stupid too!

yeah, i know. the calender goes 2BC, 1BC, 1AD, 2 AD, 3AD, etc.

because the current 'Gregorian' calender was invented by some berk in the middle ages and not by people alive then. they retroactively applied the dates backwards.

it's not like someone suddenly decided that this was Wednesday May the 8th in 2978BC you know...

The Jews are on their 58th century and the Muslims are still in their 15th!

oh, and the Gregorian calender was an altered version of the Julian calender.

and somewhere along the line, someone f*cked up their sums and Christ was actually (allegedly) born in 4AD, not 1AD.
