Re: displaying Leviathan
more of a query than anything else, but as the his diving outfit is clearly based on the early divers of the 1930's and 40's didn't they have the breathing equipment out of the water and had air feed to them via a tube, if so it would stand to reason that it is not a backpack and should be placed on dry land? Of course i could be outrageously wrong.

Re: displaying Leviathan
always used to attach my tube to the PEG on the back of his tank/pack........ look it's just sat there not doing anything!Sundance wrote:photos in the archive from the Sea Lion and Swordfish aren't high enough resolution to be clear, but looking at Leviathan's card back in the archive, the pack appears to be (somehow) attached to the base of the aerial by the straw. Levi is then holding the aerial. I've attached the straw to the aerial base, and then just shoved the other end into the top right of the pack where the 'crinkled' part of the pack is.
will get back to you about that snake eyes by the way sundance!

you're not wrong. he is wearing a 1920s-1950s style deep sea diver's outfit, which as you say, had air supplied from the surface; but there are certain salient points you missed. to wit:gung-hoeddie wrote:more of a query than anything else, but as the his diving outfit is clearly based on the early divers of the 1930's and 40's didn't they have the breathing equipment out of the water and had air feed to them via a tube, if so it would stand to reason that it is not a backpack and should be placed on dry land? 1. the 'straw' tube doesn't connect to the pack (it is after all the JUMP pack from GI Joe)
2. the 'straw' also doesn't fit very well into the helmet (or at least mine doesn't)
3. what the hell's that pack for if it's not air supply?
4. what the hell's with the aerial?
the tube i've got doesn't really fit onto the peg, Ross...

you're getting worse, Dawson!
Re: displaying Leviathan
it was a jump pack with g.i. joe but i dont think it is for AF! they just used whatever they felt like.Sundance wrote:you're not wrong. he is wearing a 1920s-1950s style deep sea diver's outfit, which as you say, had air supplied from the surface; but there are certain salient points you missed. to wit:gung-hoeddie wrote:more of a query than anything else, but as the his diving outfit is clearly based on the early divers of the 1930's and 40's didn't they have the breathing equipment out of the water and had air feed to them via a tube, if so it would stand to reason that it is not a backpack and should be placed on dry land? my tube fitted fine & im sure there is a pic somewhere that showed the tube on the peg? makes more sense than just wedging it into the gap, serves no purpose @all!!!!!
i might be wrong, but i seem to remember a cheesy pic @ some point that showed this guy "flying" out of the water?!
so maybe it is some kind of jump pack......
as far as him being based on a 1920's/1950'2 diver, so was muton but i didnt see him getting air pumped from land!
i dont think @ this point realism really concerned them!

Yeah, I think you're looking for logic where there is none, Sundance.
