Thought this might of interest to some, there was a big splash at the london Toy Fair on these, which will launch soon.

They are around 10" - 12" scale.





It will be interesting to see the response on these. They're not really kid focused and too real, yet not detailed enough for military collectors when you compare them to current alternatives.

It is a shame when any toy line fails after all the work that goes into it, but in these PC times, I can't really see parents buy something for their kids that is backed by the MOD and I think collectors will keep to their Dragon In Dreams etc.

I'm not so sure I can see these selling quite well. The whole PC bubble has truly burst because the noble attempt to try and do things right has been done so wrong.
Also the current Sun campaign in regard to the heroes charity etc. should see these sold in a positive light. I've said it somewhere else, but I think that regardless of the legitimacy of the wars we're fighting we still shouldn't view the soldiers as bad for being there. Pressure should be on the politicians and right wing media, not abusing soldiers on parade, or boycotting toys like these.
I'll put my soapbox away now, and wait for a sniper figure...

It's a shame that the Tommy Gunn line didn't take off in the same way as Actionman did back in the 60's.. Pedigree's line was just like this new one, all contemporary british uniforms @ a time when A.m was still just a re-branded G.I.Joe.
I'd like to see this line take off, but in todays climate I can't see it happening..& wouldn't it be nice to see some ethnic or female face's in this line?
I'm not trying to seem P.C. but I believe that the U.K. armed forces are quite diverse nowadays aren't they?

well, women can't serve as Infantry, but they can serve as medics, intel operatives, aides, in logistics, as radiomen and as helo pilots in the Army and the WRENs were merged into the 'male' Navy in 91 or so, but the female sailors can't serve on subs. RAF allows female pilots too.

dunno if they can drive tanks, but i'd guess not...

dunno if they can serve with the artillery or as divers either, prolly not...

as for racial mix, yes, from what i've seen on the news and in 'Commando: On the Front Line', the troops are pretty racially mixed, but predominantly white.

& I suppose it wouldn't hurt future recruitment either, if female & a diverse racial mix were appeared in this line..
