Z FORCE RECCE JEEP

Post by andy hopton »

:D hello all,

just looking for your thoughts on the following

on sunday i was at a bootfair and picked up a GI JOE AWE STRIKER JEEP with CRANKCASE driverfor ?1. the figure is totally mint and his joints don't feel like they have ever been played with. the jeep is all there no damage and no play ware. it looks like an unwanted present cos it was put together then gathered dust.

no stickers have been applied and when i put it next to my Z FORCE JEEP the main body is virtually the same shade of green. this got me thinking. if :af: had not become unified in '85 and continued down the line of :qforce: :sas: :space: :zforce: then the AWE being released in '85 would have been an ideal vehicle to be released as a :zforce: vehicle.

so my plan is to turn it into a RECCE VEHICLE for :zforce: to me the inf man :inf: always looked like a recce trooper anyway.

so i need some stickers. i found a SHAFT sticker sheet on the site and played around with it but it didn't come out of my printer sharp enough. how do i get the print out to look like a proper sheet. has anyone been to a printers to get this done? how does it work?

if this vehicle had been released as part of the :zforce: range i wonder would it look better with a different gun mount. maybe the red cannon from the :zforce: JEEP ? let me know what you think would tie it in with the original vehicles.

cheers ....................andy

At most local copyshops yea can get it printed on sticky using hq-laser copier. One print on sticky paper might cost you round 60p or sommick.

I did this conversion when I was a kid. I got an AWE striker that had no stickers and using a permanent marker I applied black camouflage to match the Z force jeep. I then applied stickers from a Z force battle tank and Viola, a Z force striker. However, a few months later, I took off the Z force stickers and applied action force ones. I still have it in my attic, although it's a bit battered. I think it looks better than the plain one.

Ah, the memories.

That's reminds me. Take an action force machine gun from, say, a shadow track and take out the mount piece from the centre. Take the cannon off the AEW striker and eave its mount piece on the striker. Swivel the striker mount piece sideways and place the machine gun over it for a snug fit. Then take a machinegun belt from , say, the rambo line of toys or a 12" ammo belt and put it in through holes on the machine gun and you have a fairly sznazzy heavy machine gun instead of the cannon mounted with no modifications whatsoever.

It's easier than it sounds and it looks pretty good.
