Action Man bonus comic

Post by S.A.S.Sparrowhawk »

During the last years of Palitoy's Action Man,certain figures and most vehicles came with an instruction leaflet that had a comic strip on the reverse side. The SAS figures, vehicles & uniforms had the same comic story but they produced different stories that depicted the precise figure, vehicle or uniform that the came with. These comics continued with the first AF sets(you can see it in the toys section)and followed exactly the same format.Does anyone have them still? and could you scan them & post them here?

Some of the vehicles & uniforms they came with that i know:-

Electronic Command Centre
Armoured Jeep
SAS Helicopter
Assault Helicopter
SAS Assault Craft
SAS Parachute Assault
SAS Underwater Assault
SAS Mission Pod
Special Team Missile Assault
Special Team Underwater Assault
Special Team Arctic Assault
Special Team Ground Assault

Thanks :sparrow:

The A.M Space Speeder came with a comic/instruction sheet as well..I've still got it somewhere in the loft..it's a bit crumpled up though.
I seem to recall a newspaper like sheet that I got with my Gargon as well..it's long gone now along with the tourch that you could fend him off with, Gargon himself was still going strong last time I checked..

 Come to think about it..The Gargon would of made a superb addition to the Barons ranks! I used to use him as an AT-AT replacement when playing with my Star Wars figures untill I finally got one to bolster up my imperial forces

More news, as its made, from new Action Force!

The comic strip[ that came with the PAra Attack actually mentions SAS Force opposed to just SAS. Will scan it over the weekend .
When confronted by a difficult problem you can solve it more easily by reducing it to the question. How would the Lone Ranger handle this?

if the comic that paul posted is the one that paul463 is referring to, i'd point out that the reference there to 'the SAS force' is not to :sas: but simply to the three commandos as an SAS force, it's a synonym for team, unit or group. the caption could just as easily read 'as soon as the men are in place the SAS unit makes its attack'.

Yup you're right now that I have read it again, less the euphoria of opening the MIB Para Attack! The excitement can get too much at times........

Hmm, clearly the same team responsible for the AF3 and AF5 strips. Are there any others, I wonder?

Thanks, paul!

Sorry for the poor quality on this, I shall try and get a better one, but here's one for the Command Centre:
