The Tower - Action Force's UK base

Post by Malcolm Orr »

Some of you might remember my previous AF base - it was quite small. I've rethought the concept, except the overall design shape is the same, though the setting is different. The idea is based loosely on a 'Torchwood' type concept - ie a high tech equipment in an antique environment - in this case the base is set underneath the Tower of London. The Operations Room is the first one done. The main computer isn't started yet, but the walls and floor are concrete/stone/bricks and have swords, a sheild and an axe mounted on them along with shackles and chains!!! Large pipes are attached too. The holoprojector section is now installed though, and I'm quite pleased with it so far. Pics this week!

perhaps an antique suit of armour on one side and a picture of the queen on the wall, ok a 1st class stamp in a frame would be the right scale

Crom, I have never prayed to you before. I have no tongue for it. No one, not even you, will remember if we were good men or bad. Why we fought, or why we died. All that matters is that two stood against many. That's what's important! Valor pleases you, Crom... so grant me one request. Grant me revenge! And if you do not listen, then to HELL with you! -Conan the Cimmerian

I love that idea! "For Queen and Country!" (is that first class, or second?)

This sounds like it's going be good,..I'm getting visions of The Munsters living room, without cobwebs, mixed with a Gerry Anderson type base theme..or a James Bond "Q" branch affair.
More news, as its made, from new Action Force!

Thanks for the comments! Much appreciated!

I did think of the suit of armour and if I can find some in scale I might just do that. Not sure about overt British references - I have Action Force as an International organisation with links to NATO and the UN, based on British soil with the permission of the UK Government, with a liason with HM Government being Sir Paul Thaddick, Minister of Defence (I have a custom of this person!). Flint being in charge of the UK base - the force for European and Middle East regions - Duke is the US feild commander, and Hawk the global commander.

The feel for the bases are very much in the James Bond style. I'm going to make a 25th Boffin, though not the same design exactly, but it will be the former Special Weapons designer, and I think his lab, a prison cell, an underground vehicle park etc should be good. Something like Q's Underground garage from Die Another Day would be an idea.

My website hosts (Lycos) stopped hosting, so I've rejoined photobucket. I'll show some WIP pics

(BTW I'm making these as sets for photography rather than a playset connected like the AF HQ for example)
