Wave 1 Russian Soldier

Post by Muton »

Here’s my wave 1 custom Soviet soldier. He’s a WW2 NKVD frontier troop (hence the emerald green cap and shoulder boards). Made from:

Head- Black Major, with the cap badge carefully sanded off, and neck thinned and cut.
Torso- Indiana Jones Russian soldier. Shortened by 2mm with the dremel to make his height match AF.
Arms- Z force Sapper.
Legs- Indiana Jones Colonel Dovchenko, with the articulation glued, and filled.
Gun- PPSh 41 from 25th anniversary GI Joe Red Star.

I’m working on an officer to go with him and Babyjelly’s Stalin!

Muton, this is pretty cool!

I've only ever used AF parts for my customs in the past as it seems more 'genuine'.

I have recently broke with the rule though to make a couple of the brilliant Red Shadow Trenchcoats.

This custom is interesting and opens up new possibilites for me outside of the core AF parts list.

Really nice. More please!

NIce job Muton !

My series one customs are on hold for the time being ( difficult to achieve what I want with existing body parts ! )

I havent had much luck with mixing parts from other toylines, so Congratulations on making it work !

Thanks for the comments!
Th Indiana Jones figures are practically indestructable (would make a Muton jealous) so it was quite a relief when all the parts eventually fit together.

Brilliant custom, Muton - looks really great! Well put together, especially to retrospecively make it have the same pose as the early AF range!
