Carboot Sale Haul !!!!!!!
Carboot Sale Haul !!!!!!!
I spent 2 hours this morning trudging around the local carboot sale, I took £100 from the cash machine before I went and made sure I had 2 strong carrier bags in my pocket ready to haul all my new toys home.
So anyway .... out of my £100 I ended up spendin 10p on a matchbox "Captain Black" figure and 95p on a cup of coffee .............. very poor !!
I remember a few years back the bootsales were heaving with toy boxes to rummage through.
has anyone else had better luck ?

I go to my local one pretty regularly at Colwick in Nottingham and hardly ever see any toys except baby ones, not even Power Rangers or stuff... Best thing ive found was some lanard corps! stuff...
I usually go there to pick up any comic annuals like dandy / whizzer and chips etc...

Andy I got all excited there waiting to hear what your haul had been. I'm now sharing your disappointment. Only been to the local car boot once (Errol Airfield every sunday), with no luck. But you could get your hair done at the hairdressers port - a -cabin.
When confronted by a difficult problem you can solve it more easily by reducing it to the question. How would the Lone Ranger handle this?

Nice find for 10p Andy, have you got many Captain Scarlet figures? I've managed to get every thing except the 2nd capt Blacks machine gun so far..
Long gone are the days when it seemed like every stall holder had a taty old ice cream tub full of exotic action figures for pennies..nowadays you'd be hard pushed to find a manky Ghodtbusters figure, & even if you did the seller, usually the semi pro dealer who attends said boot sale week in week out will say, "it's old & rare" or "it's a collectable toy" as soon as you look at it, and then'll try to charge ya a tenner for some thing you would'nt touch with a 10 foot barge pole!
Hey I know every one's gotta make a living, but it just make things too expensive for us poor colectors on a tight budget.Besides you just know they've been around hoovering up all the good stuff from the new, inexperienced people who are there to raise a bit of cash by clearing out the loft or garage, long before the sale officially opens.
I've recently found most of my best "boot sale bargains" at the small one off charity boot fairs, you know the sort, local village need to raise funds for a sports hall, help local vicar get out of trouble with leaking roof/ fallen women etc..genuine people clearing stuff out for a good course.
Best find of last year was a box full of Transformers bits & pieces for £25..O.K so their was a lot of broken bits that went staight into the recylce bin as soon as I got home, but I stll ended up with a near complete Defensor, Dirge & a shed load of mini Autobots & loads of assorted weapons..plus the money went to a good home..also got a good lot of Centurions bits as well at the same boot fair thinking back to it.
Any way enough moaning & back to playing with my new Action Man (up to 18 now)
