BARON IRONBLOOD / COBRA COMMANDER WHAT IF.............

was gonna make a 25th ironblood, but decided as im making my shadow army in current timeline, how could he fit in?
well..... cobra commander seems to have nothing but trouble as far as loyalty goes, so what if he turned back to his ever-loyal brainwashed shadows? re-building his once proud army to tackle destro & baroness! (this will make using crimson guard as the base figure work too!)
not sure how this idea will go down but thought i'd run with it! is the whole baron became cobra commander thing world wide, or was it just used for the uk & the rest of the world has no idea who he is?
ok, well let me know what ya think, im planning on making both heads, by next weekend i will have the red commander.....

oh, what should i call him?!
i dont think it should be baron ironblood anymore, what about:
commander ironblood
red commander
crimson commander
shadow commander
red baron (too cheesy!)
the baron

i think commander ironblood is my favorite.

I dont really read many of the comics and I am quite startled to discover that baron Ironblood became Cobra commander ???

did I pick that up right ? perhaps I should read more comics ?

in my AF universe Ironblood never became CC but is a prisoner of Cobra instead along with Red Jackal.
Everything after his capture was disinformation to keep the shads off Cobbers back.
CC possibly was a shadow until he learned enough to establish himself.
everything we read in the comics is a program being run through Red Jackals cybernetics in an attempt to learn all his secrets.
Ironblood is waiting for the Black Major to free him so he can exact his revenge on that snake headed fool
Destro was able to use the Red Jackal technology to establish Marrs hence the similarity between Hiss/Hyena etc.
this is just my verse so feel free to disagree.

In the Battle AF comics Iroinblood became CC but im still undecided if that happened in my "world"... Im leaning towards it happening so like your idea above...

I like the idea, and I assume you've found the base figure.

You, know I'd be tempted to have the body as above with decals, but the Ned Kelly Ironblood mask - either of your own making, or the vintage one. The other designs above just aren't quite different enough - the hooded design exists, whilst the faceplate one is 98% Red Laser...

I love the BAF mythos.....however, I only subscribe to the transition from Ironblood to CC in that comic and nothing else....

Im my 'universe' though, CC is the used American Car Salesman who created Cobra as per the US Marvel comics mythos....

That all said, I somehow don't think the Shads would EVER rejoin Ironblood if the UK mythos of CC deciding sod the Cobra Organisation and I'll recreate the Red Shadows as The Baron again....

Andy, basically, was given a U.N. backed go ahead called 'Resolution 9-0-9' to destroy The Enemy once and for all as they'd become too dangerous. Simultaneous attacks around the world destroyed around 99% of all the Enemy bases and personel....Ironblood knew that some sort of attack was iminent and allowed it to happen, escaping into the jungles of South America (I think, correct me if wrong as I can't be arsed to look it up!) and used advanced surgery to become Cobra Commander......

Red Jackal managed to survive and tracked him down. He knew where all the Baron/CC's cash was stored and wanted to kill him for betrayal....CC then attacked Jackal, melting his face. His last word as he attacked CC were 'Destro!' as in 'destroy' cut short in mid sentance. CC then had his surgeons turn him into his new No.2 and called him Destro so as to never forget the cost of attacking him.....

Its all in a BAF story called World Enemy No.1.....Surprised you never read it matey.....

However, The Black Major and some Red Shadows survived as seen in the BAF stories: Showdown for the Shadows, Revenge of the Red Shadows (where they first reappear) which also included Red Lazer and Red Vulture and my personal favourite School For Snakes.....


That reminds me, in the BAF canon, what the fook ever happened to Red Lazer and Red Vulture? Did they die post Revenge of The Red Shadows as no mention was ever made of them by the time we last see them in School For Snakes.....?

they are actually both uniforms he has worn (the red lazer figure is just a re-paint of cobra commander v-1)
i thought about the ned kelly mask, but ive never been to sure about it!
im actually going to make 2 figures, 2 base figures. i agree that to be honest it's too the same, but just like the idea of just switching him over but keeping him similar, i actually really like his costume!
maybe ill do 3 heads..... ive got one i can use for unmasked but im not sure how im gonna make the mask, i cant get my hands on an original.

p.s. just so you know, when i say i cant get my hands on blah, blah, blah, i have no credit card + refuse to own one so ebay is near impossible, i do know there is stuff there!
as far as AF in hong kong goes...... one of the only things i cant find!

p.s. if anyone finds themselves in hong kong, there is an awesome bar near my studio called ned kellys, well worth a pint or 2 (& to blame for my drunken 4 jugs of guiness 4am posting from yesterday morning!)
