Andy1672 and I were chatting a while ago about the 1982-83 Palitoy

figures, and we were speculating how the bendy-limbed Hasbro figures might have turned out if developed by Palitoy instead.
It could become an interesting point should

ever make a comeback; as much as most fans would love to have Hasbro involved in such a project, if they were to decide against joining in, some of those classic bendy characters might need to be reworked as Palitoy styled straight-limbed figures. Or not!
Anyway, we thought about making a straight limbed

Gaucho using Palitoy parts. Of course, Palitoy didn't really go in for making moustachioed bare-chested figures in leather hats (!) which meant that we had to come up with a different body-type for Gaucho as there wasn't really an equivalent Palitoy body.
Of course, Gaucho has that famous U.S. Marine tattoo on his chest, so we went for a U.S. Marine Dress Uniform based on the nearest equivalent;

Black Major!
This is where my buddy Mark comes into the equation. He's an experienced miniatures painter who I highly recommend (so send him your figures and some pocket-money NOW!), and when I mentioned the Gaucho idea to him, he offered to paint up the spare

I found on ebay.
It. Is. AWESOME.
Okay, the uniform isn't going to be exactly right. The Dress Uniform is a proper pressed affair whereas

's black jumpsuit is kind of baggy. But check out the cool colour scheme! (Pics to follow in the next few days).
This is what Gaucho might've looked like as a Palitoy figure. Mark and I hope you like it. (When we get around to uploading the pics!)
