IDW'S GI Joe COMIC Editor Andy Schmidt Interview

Broken Frontier did an interview with the Editor of IDW's GI JOE books and This is what got me interested in paying attention to this interview

"Of course, all heroes need enemies to battle, and in the new series it may not be COBRA alone who cause the Joes their grief, teased Schmidt. “ The new villain appears in Larry's ORIGINS book and he/she/they is/are really different from COBRA. And very nasty. COBRA itself which is handled in the other two books is quite different as well. But I think fans will like the adjustments.”


Im really hoping this is either THE RED SHADOWS or SKAR and will be very dissapointed if its not

LET IDW HEAR OUR VOICES DEMAND THAT THESE ARE THE RED SHADOWS!

man can you imagine LARRY HAMA writting the RED SHADOWS!

I'd love to see the SHADOWS rear their red heads again, but I just can't see it happening. IDW will be too keen to stamp the franchise with their own 'cool' new characters (inferior ones, probably) and play them up as the greatest and most original idea to hit Joe since the beginning.

And even this interview snippet strikes me like they're describing a "Reloaded" style comic (shudder) and making out it's totally original to IDW.
Sorry, but modern comics have made me cynical.

The fact he says it will be very different from Cobra makes me think it very unlikely he means the Shadows.... Or Skar...

Unless he means the colour of their suits are very different...

well they have listened to the fans a few times before on Transformers sometimes big things sometimes small things ! I really feel if we all got together and started letting them know we want the RED SHADOWS to return they would listen

in a private mail Ryall himself wrote me, that he actually likes the idea of the RED SHADOWS and would like to get to them someday!

I believe we can make that happen if we let them know Im not the only one out there that wants them back!
