Spanish Baggie figure find

Post by Newswseller »

Hi all

Back in May I was looking through Spanish classified adverts and I came across an advert for Action Man dolls, what caught my eye was that they were action force figures (no weapons) but all in individual bags of the same type..

I shot the seller an email using google translate asking if they had put them in the bags themselves and the seller replied that they infact came from the factory like that and that his mother had worked there.. Curious I looked at the sellers completed transactions and he had sold another lot but this time containing about 40+ Star Wars figures in the same bags with a few of the action force figures mingled in..

I then spent the next 3 weeks trying to buy them and eventually the seller sent me the payment details, 2-3 weeks later the seller shipped them and they finally arrived.

He also asked his mother some questions for me which gives some insight on Spanish figures

His mother worked for the Spanish company PBP at the factory located in Hostalric which is a Provence of Girona from 1981-1983. She was in charge of the section where the assembly and painting occurred. Like PBP Star Wars figures you can see they painted the faces and hands of the figures a very white colour. These Baggie figures were purchased from the employee store within the factory.

Here's some pictures of them, the series 1 have lots of obvious differences, the series 2 are identical. The one British marine has a lighter colour cap and no rank on the arms..

I reckon, that's cool.
Let me tell you, Gunner La-De-Dah Graham, the British Army can fight anything! Intimate or not!

Oh my goodness, that's new! Thanks so much for sharing :)

Do you happen to have a bagged version of one of the free figures that came with Battle, Eagle or Tiger? The books looks similar but it may be my memory playing tricks.

I've seen three types of baggies so far
image.jpeg
Driver baggies that came with boxed vehicles, they are heat sealed at both ends
image.jpeg
Free figures from the comics, tape sealed baggies with blue text on the front

And lastly these Spanish ones which are plain and tape sealed
