Actually, if we really want to be massive MASSIVE geeks, we could ascribe each figure/cardback type combo an individual number - thus a Red Shadow T1 on a Type 10 card would have the individual number #54, but a Type 1 Red Shadow on a Type 11 card would be #55.
It would simplify collecting as it would effectively reduce the matrix to a long list of numbers that you guys could tick off when you get them!

Blimey, even for me that is hugely complex and pointless.

Kiwi's hoses! Found this hose variant whilst (finally) setting my figures up on display. I can't see any other mention of it elsewhere on the forum.
