Secret Coded Messages
Secret Coded Messages
Continuing my exploration of the byways of Action Force, I broke out my trusty fan club Code Breaker and got to work on the coded messages that appeared in Battle Action Force.
Initially, they appeared by the half page adverts advertising the fan club roughly every two weeks, and later in the special 'Action Force Members Page' printed most weeks, and hosted by the leader of one of the four teams.
Chronologically, then, starting with the first.
15/10/83 - Code 3
Contact HQ ASAP. First 25 will be issued with vehicles. State no. and codename, confirm address, mark envelopes AFX25.
I wonder if I'm too late...
29/10/83 - Code 8
Ten special T Shirts now available for the first ten recruits who send HQ a postcard with their name, codename, number and home address.
Presumably these are the T Shirts that are later offered at a discounted price to members.
12/11/83 - Code 5
These Action Force numbers wish to hear from others.
Barry Pesbitt, 47 Oxford Square, RAF Locking, Weston Super Mare, Avon
Paul Gardner, 2 Thornden Farm Cottages, Rolvendon Layne, Cranbrook, Kent.
Barracuda, Lydbrook, Malthouse Bank, Little Wenlock, Salop.
Is this anyone here? And I love how no one has a normal address - you know, 15 Boring Avenue type of thing!
Anyway, more to follow if I get time

There's this one too...
Re: Secret Coded Messages
I once spent an evening trying to decipher the enemy code - using Black Major's codebook, and comparing all the known examples.
Turns out it's complete gibberish. That bugger Brechin...

Re: Secret Coded Messages
I've forgotten what my old disc number was. I'll have to look it up, I could be a winner.
Let me tell you, Gunner La-De-Dah Graham, the British Army can fight anything! Intimate or not!
