Ok heres my British Marine with badge. Silver number 5. Will check Crotch Mission Pilot tomorrow.Hopper wrote: I'm willing to bet that the Palitoy sales rep who sold his stuff through Vectis had exclusively silver overpaint figures.
The other 4 figures that potentially wouldshould have the silver overpaint are:
Frogman T1 (Shield Design on chest)
SAS Squad Leader
Mission Pilot T1 (Brazilian Beaver Variant - Yellow zip on crotch)
British Marine T1 (Beret badge)
Happy to be proven wrong, though.
Series 1 - 2Para or Helicopter MOC anyone?

I owe you a pint, LDR.
Thanks mate.
I have a huge data dump regarding phases of release, cardbacks, matrices, variant types, and the usual Hopper shenanigans regarding Palitoy history waiting to go.
I just need to tidy it up a little!
Any help you, or anyone else, could give, would be massively appreciated.

No worries happy to help...just shout!
Re: Series 1 - 2Para or Helicopter MOC anyone?
looking at photos I posted of the MIssion Pilot with crotch, seems it doesnt have the silver paint.
I'll get him out of storage at some point to double check though.

No worries LDR, thanks for your help mate.
In a sense it doesn't detract from the theory - your T1 Mission Pilot may have been left over stock and simply carded on a 'new' style card with the correct number printed.
The rule is then: you may find T1 variants (early releases) on both Silver and Non-Silver cardbacks, but you will never find T2 variants (later releases) on early cards. Only the original 9 figures released will be found on Silver cardbacks.

Some of these may also have the silver rubbed off. Probably easy to do.

True, I'd not thought of that. Although my knackered example has been worn a bit, and seems to leave a grey stain.LDR wrote:Some of these may also have the silver rubbed off. Probably easy to do.
