Is this a prototype or a sh*t custom?

Post by action-figure-supplies »

Someone's asked me if I could ID this figure. Is it a prototype? I can't tell if it's just a custom that's been sprayed. I only have this photo to work from.

Check the medics out, note the colour difference.

Indeed! Greyish green.
Also, the figure in the blue helmet, bottom left? Can't place that.
May be my eyes, but it doesn't look like a regular Space Force blue helmet.

The original figure is almost certainly a prototype... Sonar Officer's head on a SAS Pilot's body.

What's the story behind the seller?

The guy said he was given a couple of shoeboxes of figures by a mate at Uni and that's what pictured.

Call me a cynic, but my money is on it being a paint stripped normal production figure.

Only issue is that no figure was made like that, ODB. It could be a paint stripped custom, but I'd doubt it. It is colour matched and the only figure with that shade was the US paratrooper. An SAS head would have had to be added. My money is on a prototype. Incidentally, it would be an unreleased figure too.
