Nice pictures. I'd love to see a Hudson flying over here (and the Duxford Beaufighter of the Fighter Collection). I had both as Airfix kits when I was young and are some of my earliest aircraft memories, along with Airfix JU-88 and Mosquito.

The mossie was one of my first builds too. I'd like to build another at some point, just no room. Nearly forgot, there is an abundance of Vampires down here. At least three airworthy ones in NZ and a Hunter too.
Let me tell you, Gunner La-De-Dah Graham, the British Army can fight anything! Intimate or not!

One of my first customs, next was a Corsair (for complicated Phantom spares reasons... I forget all the details ... Shrike related, perhaps).
That's quite a collection ... more than the northern hemisphere?Chopper wrote:Nearly forgot, there is an abundance of Vampires down here. At least three airworthy ones in NZ and a Hunter too.

Vampires aren't too uncommon. Thanks to the Swiss there are an abundance of recent retirees. You can tell if its one of them neutral chappies because of the shape of the nose. One of the ones with an RNZAF scheme is Swiss.
Here you go, Herr Mueller. The Kiwi built Mossie 2 Kiwi Vamps and a Swiss one at the Wairarapa air show;

Interesting re: Swiss, they must have had the Vampire before the Hawker Hunter which is still a bit of a national icon there as it was in service for decades.

Brilliant photo Mark

When confronted by a difficult problem you can solve it more easily by reducing it to the question. How would the Lone Ranger handle this?

Not mine fellers, this one is a pro shot.
I think you are right, Quickfire. There is a huge number of warbirds in NZ which is lucky as our Air Force got rogered.
