Incidentally - interesting observations - all the series 1 we can pretty much take as early issue - the ones being taken around by the salesman. And they are all what we would call variants. Piss stained crotch version of mission pilot, helmet logo on German trooper, painted pockets on commando. Gutted I didn't get a lot with the piss stained crotch mission pilot! :-( just crossin my fingers that mine that comes has helmet logo German - it looks to in the picture, but can't be 100%.

I got the TSATT Wellen Jet. Paid £120 for it, probably over the odds but hey ho!
When confronted by a difficult problem you can solve it more easily by reducing it to the question. How would the Lone Ranger handle this?

Indeed.
It makes sense and confirms what we had already suspected... that Palitoy simplified and streamlined production later on, so that anything a bit 'la-di-da, ooo fancy' would be early.
Shame really.

Was your lot a helmet logo German?
