Alpine

Post by nighthawk »

I've updated my 25th Alpine. I like the FSS Alpine's head and the backpack (as I didn't like how the 25th one was black). If you look at the original Alpine, his hat color did not match the rest of the figure anyways so I thought, why not. The one thing I didn't do was paint the inside of his hips. It's annoying how Hasbro left the hip sockets unpainted. It was the same with the 25th Quick Kick. I'll paint it up one of these days when I manage to get some brown paint.

The other thing I did besides painting the details on the hat and backpack was that I modified his lower arms. I didn't like how his gauntlets were fixed so in some poses, it actually gets in his way of holding stuff. I replaced the lower arms with Beachhead's and modified the Alpine lower arms (basically hollowed it out and put them through the Beachhead arms. Now the gauntlets can rotate around his arm 360 degrees.

Alpine was one of my most beloved figures back in the day. I used to have him scale my parent's upright wicker laundry basket on a daily basis! This is a really cool update and great custom work :)

*UPDATE* I really hated how Hasbro did not paint the inner hip socket. In this case it was really bad in that they left it white and is very obvious on Alpine. I just painted it but the color match isn't perfect. However, still better than leaving it white. Also gave Bazooka some straps so it doesn't look like his backpack has a magical ability to stay on his back without straps.
